Ultra Violet

What can I say, I'm just a natural trend setter. The Pantone color of the year for 2018 is ultra violet purple, and I just dyed my hair that color recently. Some would say it's mere coincidence, but I think we know the truth.

Just kidding of course! In all seriousness, obviously I love the color "ultra violet". Though I do think the color is actually quite polarizing, as some see it as purple and some see it as blue. To me, I consider the skirt, gloves, and hair pictured in this post as purple, but many people keep noting my blue hair which I find a bit confusing. I will admit I bought this skirt mostly because it matched my hair so well. We all know I love a plaid skirt, so it's really no surprise I fell for yet another one. This style of skirt seems to have been around from the 1940's through the 1990's, until all plaid skirts became tiny mini kilts in the early 2000's (WHY?!). This one was very clearly from the 1980's, and I had to chop about 4 inches off the hem since it was just too long. Since I was already matching my skirt to my hair, I kept the rest of the outfit simple and went with a black sweater and accessories.

I managed to get a good bit of holiday shopping in this past weekend, which it nice to have crossed off my to do list. Now I've got to get back to video editing so I can get something new up this weekend while I am busy seeing the new Star Wars film. To say I am excited for the new film would be a vast understatement!

  2. Your hair is definitely purple in these photos and matches that skirt perfectly! I remember my mum wearing a plaid skirt like that in the 80s, but it was bottle green rather than purple. xx

    1. Thank you Cate! I wouldn't say no to a bottle green skirt like this one, I keep looking for one in green/black or green/grey so I can show my Slytherin pride.

    1. Thank you Megan! I don't know how long I'll keep the bright hair since it's so hard to maintain, but it sure is fun!
