Lakeside Reverie

I mentioned I was making a new floral print blouse in my last outfit post, and here it is all finished! I accidentally (*ahem*) bought this fabric while on a trip to buy some buttons. No matter how I try, whenever I go to just pick up some buttons, or perhaps a zipper, I always end up coming home with fabric! This length of rose print crepe was just $5 dollars, so of course I couldn't resist! I just love the colors in this print though, so I don't feel so bad :)

This is the first of a few planned fall blouse projects, and the first with my new basic pattern. I have been making a lot of kimono sleeved button back blouses this year, but I wanted a similar pattern with regular set in sleeves. I decided to move some of the fullness from two of the front darts to gathers at the neckline and I am really happy with how the whole thing turned out! I have a second blouse in the works with the fullness in gathers at the shoulders in a lovely olive/golden green rayon. I just have to hem this second blouse and it too will be finished! Next I'll be working on little fixes to old projects, mostly taking in the waists of skirts that are just a tad too big and don't sit exactly how I'd like. I shall mend and make do!

  3. Such deeply beautiful images. I love the tonal range and the pale wheat hued tall grasses. Dynamic, breathtaking location to highlight an equally stellar outfit in.

    1. Thank you Jessica! I was trying to find a way down to the "beach" of this reservoir as it looked so pretty, but I had to make do with the nearby path as there were too many sharp drops and fences in my way!
