Navy, White, and Green Gingham

After a series of very hot days, too hot really, we have finally had a string of days with more mild summer weather. It's almost possible to wander around outside without melting entirely! Not that I have much time to wander around outside sadly, but not having the air con running at home helps with being able record videos without a lot of buzzing machinery in the background.

Just how many gingham dresses do I have? Only three I promise. Not that I wouldn't mind adding a few more to my closet, gingham is just the perfect summer fabric. I keep flirting with the idea of going through my closet and really paring down my wardrobe into a more focused style that leans a bit more sophisticated than I tend to currently, but I could never give up my gingham.

This time I paired this dark green and white dress with navy blue, but I can see it paired with almost any bright color as an accent really. Red, coral, mustard yellow, pink, the options are limitless! I only have so many hats however, though I'd love a big mustard yellow straw hat, that would be amazing. You all have already seen this navy straw hat and my other large red straw hat quite a lot this season, so I really need to style some outfits around some of my other favorite hats so they can get some time out in the sun. I have not been able to get much of the sewing done this summer that I had planned, which has held a few other hats back, as I had planned to make dresses that would match them! One can only do so much though...

In fact, as usual I have quite a lot to do today, so I much be off!

  1. I would have thought you had much more gingham. This one is beautiful - I love the green and who'd have thought of accessorising with navy, but it's a great combination! Kx
