Golden Lantern

Don't the charms of these earrings look like lanterns? I just love them and have been wearing them a lot more this year. I think I picked up the charms at Michael's or Joann's ages ago so sadly I can't share a link to them or anything, but someone should start making lantern earrings!

I recently finished sewing up this simple little button back top in shining gold quilting cotton. As much as I detest quilting cotton, this print was just too pretty to pass by so it fell into my cart on my last Joanns trip. Opps! I paired it with my black sateen pencil skirt for an outfit that is entirely made from Joann fabrics funny enough. The suede heels are from Remix, and the lovely hair flower clip is from Alternate Normality.

I'm still chipping away editing my manuscript little by little this week, but I did manage to finish editing a new video so that should be up over on the YouTube channel now. I really enjoy making videos and I feel like I am definitely getting better at it with time and practice. Now when I watch videos even from just a few weeks ago I can spot things I would have done differently already. I certainly have a tendency towards perfectionism, so having things up I feel aren't as good as they could have been is slightly irritating, but that practice is what is helping me improve. The trick is remembering no one is perfect and amazing at something right out of the gate, everything takes time to develop and improve. So remember not to beat yourself up about not being perfect everyone! It's something I really struggle with myself, so I get it, but patience and self care are essential <3

Anyways, have a good weekend everyone!

  2. Quilting cottons always have the best patterns! I have a few garments made of quilting cottons too- despite the fact that they don't make the best clothing :( Your blouse is lovely!

    1. Thank you Jessica! This hair color wasn't exactly intentional, but I'm trying to make it work until I can grow out my natural color again :)

  4. Was the blouse pattern a vintage one? It's SUPER cute and looks like a relatively quick make!

    1. Thank you Emileigh! It is indeed a relatively quick make, but sadly I drafted the pattern myself and therefore don't have one I can recommend! Sorry about that!
