Winter is Coming

'Twas a bit windy in this valley as you can see, and later at the top of the mountain we found snow, or rather snow found us as it suddenly blew in sideways from what seemed like all directions. Winter is in the wind my friends, and the falling leaves collecting on the ground can confirm this further if you don't believe me. Autumn remains for now at my current lower elevations, but its reign is, as ever, much too short for my liking.

At least the sunlight here did a good job of revealing my actual hair color which has been hard to capture on camera! See, I told you it's purple these days! I had thought to have dyed it brown again by now, but I'm actually getting quite attached and am planning on keeping it longer than I had originally planned. Which means I need to get my roots done ;)

You may remember this brown dress, but this time I paired it with a brown faux fur scarf and fall appropriate leaf yellow gloves. The bug brooches are faux as well, and both modern strangely enough, the green one is from Topshop and the more rainbow hued I found at Banana Republic of all places! My greatest irrational fear is of insects, but I collect jewelry beetles and bees. Wear your fears on your shoulder instead of your heart on your sleeve? Perhaps it is a fear I could conquer one day, but if my reaction to a rather large leaf bug inside our house (hiding on a fake ficus tree blending right in) the other day is any indication, I currently remain terrified! Live bugs give me the shivers! I passed the room and both cats were staring at the fake ficus and I knew then there had to be either a bird or bug in it to garner such attention from our felines. I rather wish it had been a bird!

I hope you all have had a good week. I'm going to go see Blade Runner again tonight and then I've got a new video to edit this weekend! Hopefully I'll have that up for you all soon :)

    1. Thank you Porcelina! I wish I could break my fear of bugs, it is odd that I don't mind the jeweled ones at all, but live bugs are a huge no for me!

  3. I love your wilderness shoots! You look like such a stylish adventurer. That fur collar really is everything, and the beetle brooches add a nice touch of fun to the look.

  5. I love beetles too and am terrified of bugs. Stag beetles are my favorite and those jewel beetles...which you also love. I have often joked when I used to blog about one of my biggest regrets in life was not getting some jewel beetle ring from forever21 in like 2010 lol. Go to HSH and look up Heidi Daus Beetle. SHe has a pretty nice beetle brooch out right now!!!
