I can't tell you all how good it feels to be able to do vintage hairstyles again! I went for some Betty Grable-ish poodle on top for this windy day and used quite the cloud of hairspray in hope it would stay tame for at least a little while.
I built this outfit around wanting to wear my newly made kitschy holiday brooch, and I chose similar colors to do so. I had bought this thin cropped sweater from Forever 21 early in the fall and somehow managed not to wear it yet, you all may remember the orange version which I wore in this post. Unfortunately this grey version is a bit sheer, layering a camisole underneath provided a bit more warmth at least! My thick wool skirt also helped keep the chilly wind at bay, I'd love to make another in black to wear during these snowier months. I finished the look by adding bright red accessories like my carved celluloid earrings and red suede vintage belt. I wish it were easier to find nice suede belts these days, a nice width (thinner than this red one, around an 1" wide) and with self covered buckles. I have a perfect black suede belt from the 80's and I'll be so bummed when it finally wears out!
Tonight's the big night, I'll be going to see The Force Awakens with my brother and I couldn't be more excited! It was so good of Disney and JJ Abrams to make fans an early Christmas present :)

Love the outfit and love the pin! I have several vintage ones that I use as Christmas tree decorations that I may need to keep out to wear with holiday outfits. Your hair is fabulous as well! I hope you enjoy the movie!

Gina
Thank you Gina! I definitely enjoyed the movie, I'll be going again on Sunday and even that seems too far away!
DeleteThe red accessories (and the brooch of course) seem to bring this whole outfit together so beautifully. What a location too! Kx
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is my favorite local spot for photos, cant beat a nice castle!
DeleteWhat amazing hair, Bianca! I wish I could do more things with my hair like yours, but it's so thin that it just won't curl.
ReplyDeleteYour pin is lovely too. Very festive and fun!
Hope you enjoy the movie (it's AMAZING!)
Ellie
Thank you Ellie! I would recommend trying a wet setting method for your hair to see if the curls would hold better, like pin curls overnight. I have quite thick hair, which holds curl very well but presents other problems for vintage styling sometimes!
DeleteI quite agree the movie was amazing! I'm sure I'll be going to see it a few more times <3
You look lovely. Would you consider doing a hair tutorial?
ReplyDeleteThank you Piper! I hope to start doing hair tutorials soon and I'll put this style on my list :)
DeleteI am positively in love with this hairstyle on you. It's classic, gorgeous and sooo charming (much like this great outfit is, too).
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
Thank you Jessica! It was a big hit when I was grocery shopping in this look too, people kept commenting on it :)
DeleteOMG these photos are so beautiful!! I was wishing for a white Christmas but I guess that's not happening :( :( You look stunningly festive and so so elegant!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nora! London with a dusting of snow is just too beautiful and magical, so I hope you get at least one snow this winter sometime. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!
DeleteI honestly can never get over how gorgeous your photos always are! Also, this outfit is marvelous. I love its wintery hues and your brooch you made is marvelous!

Thank you so much Janey! I have trained my photographer (my mom <3 ) well over the past year! Plus it is nice mother daughter time during the week too!
DeleteFantastic hair style, it really suits you. That decorated doorway provides such a good frame for your lovely outfit.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate! It is definitely the prettiest door for miles!
