Though I really like the print of this dress, it's not a favorite of mine. I feel there is just something a bit off about the neckline. It seems a bit too in between, neither high enough for my liking nor low enough for my liking. I do like the sleeves and I adore the navy blue with the red and mint green leaves. Perhaps I just need to wear it a bit more to get used to the neckline?
I paired the dress, which debuted in this post back in Spring, with navy accessories this time including my fun little 40's round straw tilt hat with its lovely gossamer veil. The entirety of Denver has been rather veiled looking lately, as smoke from the wildfires in California, Oregon, and Washington (and Canada?) have caused a haze to appear even here in the middle of the US. Having grown up in southern California I know the threat of wildfires well, I remember days growing up when the world outside the window looked so yellow as to appear like a sepia toned photograph. The Rocky Mountains, a significant part of the landscape here have been hidden by the haze. I really want to get up to the mountains again soon, perhaps to see the aspens turn yellow this fall. There is nothing like a nice drive through the mountains amongst the rioting colors of fall.

I think the dress is gorgeous and I am not sure you need to worry about the neckline - or perhaps your styling with this necklace ameliorates that. In any case, pretty perfect, I would say! Kx
ReplyDeleteThank you, perhaps I am just being silly about the neckline! :)
DeleteOh my word. Your dress is fabulous! I am so loving the colors in it...they make my eyes so happy! Your hat and the veiling is pretty superb as well! Your images remind me of fall...or early fall, which is my favorite time of year!

Thank you so much Gina! The leaves are definitely already confused here thanks to a few chillier days, some of them are already yellowing!
DeleteThat's what's happening here as well!! Fine with me though!!
DeleteGorgeous dress! I personally adore the neckline and would never thought there was anything off about it, had you not mentioned that you feel such is the case. Could adding some lace in a complimentary colour help to raise the height and then hopefully banish that "in between-ness" that it has for you?

Thanks Jessica! I can't decide if I should add a little panel or try and make it lower!
DeleteLovely outfit, it looks so very elegant. I like it paired with all the navy blue.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate!
