Denver's Union Station building has long been a favorite of mine. Originally built in 1914, the terminal building was recently renovated, updating the space for the 21st century. There are still lovely art deco benches where you can wait for your train, but there are also a verity of other seating arrangements, shuffleboard tables, a bar, and several restaurants. It is intended to be "Denver's living room" and it was full of people today chatting with friends and milling about. Of course my favorite parts of the station are the original features and all of the art deco lighting fixtures. The upper floors are now a hotel and so are off limits...but we may have snuck around to get photos with those gorgeous railings!
I never get a chance to wear my fancier duds, so I threw on this sparkling 1920's lame dress today just for fun! To be completely honest, I also wanted to wear my tiara. I suppose the story for these photos must be something like a wealthy lady meeting an illicit love to dash away on a midnight train....Something like that! The excuses I come up with to wear a tiara!
