Here is my other new flared pencil skirt! I just finished hemming it yesterday, as I had to make some silk boas tape to finish off the curved hem. Again this skirt is a little different than the classic pencil skirts I usually make as this one has the flare from the knee. I ended up really liking this skirt in the end and I can see it getting a lot of use in my wardrobe. Today I paired it with one of my favorite sweaters, I just adore the rusty pumpkin color and floral lace look knit. I am wearing one of the same necklaces I wore in my last outfit post! The hat however is making its first appearance on the blog. I made it to match my outfit for college graduation but never ended up wearing it! Today it finally made it into an outfit and onto the blog. I really like the feathers on this hat, I painted them with a light dusting of gold metallic acrylic paint and added rhinestone studded gold sequins to really make them unique!
I hope you guys had a lovely week, I have to get back to drafting the perfect summer blouse pattern...

Thank you Jessica! I'm done with flared skirts now and I am moving on to figure out how to make a draped sarong style for summer!

Thank you Janey! I too adore the color of this sweater, it is one of my favorites just for the color!
DeleteI love this outfit. The colour of your jumper is great and the stitch pattern so pretty, it could be a 1950's knit. The hat sets it all off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate! The sweater was such a good find at Forever 21, sometimes in the racks of junk, there are real gems there!
