I just love the holiday season, good food, getting dressed up, glitter everywhere, what's not to like? It's the perfect time of year to get crafty too, now that the air has turned crisp or cruel outside depending on where you live! Here in Colorado we have good days (it was 68 degrees on Thanksgiving!) and then bad days (19 degrees with biting wind) right after one another, always keeping it interesting! What better time to plug in your hot glue gun, get out your paintbrushes, and make something fun. I scoured Pinterest and beyond for the prettiest and chicest holiday DIY's around for you to consider; and consequently am now bursting to get started with some DIY's of my own! I assume most vintage loving gals love the look of old glass ornaments from the 50's, well now you can get the look without searching through thrift shops or shelling out at vintage boutiques! This is definitely a tutorial I will be using in the future when I finally get my own tree to decorate!
Such a classic idea made even more festive! I like the idea of using different city skylines, or cut-outs in the style of old gothic church windows!
Everyone knows A Beautiful Mess has some of the best DIY's around, these little marbled bowls are so pretty and would make such great gifts! I could also see the same bowls as candle holders, imagine the marble in holiday shades, and that glint of metallic shine on the edge? perfection!
I'm pretty sure you guys have realized by now that I can be a bit nerdy, and I am not one bit ashamed! The best paper snowflake diagrams ever to take your holiday decor above and beyond, or in this particular case, to a galaxy far far away!
These stars remind me of a paper star lantern I had many years ago living in California and I think they are just beautiful! When making ones with cut-outs, remember you can use different colored tissue paper in the "windows" for a colorful stained glass glow!
Super chic and modern looking pine cones! I like the idea of doing this with different shades of gold or silver too, so pretty!
I really love terrariums so I am surprised this idea had never occurred to me before! Fill those empty glass ornaments from the craft store with moss, mini pine cones, pine sprigs, and acorns to bring even more nature inside for the holidays!
I am so obsessed with marble/marbling as you all well know by now, so these super chic marble place card holders won me over instantly. The same technique could be used to make black or dark green marble ones too!
My other favorite material, velvet! More excellent place cards, these would make great gift tags too, or even use the same embossing technique to create ribbon garlands and accents for wreaths.
We all love a good flower crown in the spring and summer, but why not create a wintry version in pine and holly? So perfectly pretty!
Craft some pretty and modern ornaments for your tree, also a great craft idea for those with tiny humans (sorry I am not a kid person ha ha) around who love to get creative too!
These traditional looking clementines dotted with cloves are adorable, the velvet ribbon is the perfect accent!
