I decided to add a little extra Egyptian flair to my 1920's Cleopatra dress by hand painting the skirt yoke of the dress with an Egyptian inspired geometric design. I ended up just free handing a geometric meets painterly design and am really happy with how it came out! I haven't decided if I am going to be adding gold metallic fringe to this part of the dress yet so I guess ill see after I get the top of the dress together. I also can't decide if I want to put a zipper in the side or try buttons/frog closures/snaps instead. Zippers are totally not period appropriate and it might be a pain to install one anyway so I'll see how it goes.
