Wizarding Graduate Programs

This outfit, with the black and purple and gold speckled scarf, makes me feel like I'm on a school visit investigating some post graduate study programs in charms or alchemy. Or maybe I'm just bummed I'm way too old these days to go to Hogwarts, that train has long left the station...from platform 9 3/4 of course.

Hey there, I am a Harry Potter nerd.

Isn't this silk scarf magical though? I was on the hunt for a purple scarf, preferably solid colored or with a subtle pattern, but then I found this gold embellished slip of silk and had to have it! Vintage scarves are quite common, and can go for .99 cents at the local thrift shop or for hundreds of dollars for designer examples online, but most can be had for under 10 bucks. As such, scarves are a great thing to be collecting. I still have several colors on my wishlist!

This black suit is one of my most favorite items in my closet, I still can't believe some bad photos and vague measurements in an online listing turned out to be so perfect in reality. I'd love to have a whole bunch of black suits one day, but this one, being the first one I ever found, is always going to be very special. Suit season is the best :)

I hope you are all doing well, I myself have been having an unusually anxious and off week(month...) brain wise, which is so unusual for me as I am usually quite a steady and constant person. It's been throwing me off big time, but hopefully if I dive into some sewing (finally, I haven't sewn in weeks), get lots of stuff ticked off my to do lists, and oh...reschedule and reevaluate most of my side projects I will feel better. It's time for scented candles, nice music, surrounding myself with vintage research and cats for a work+self care weekend. Stay spooky my friends <3

    1. Thank you! I am now on the hunt for more purple accessories, I don't know why I had neglected the color so much when it is one of my favorites!

  2. That is such an elegant outfit.

I'm glad Harry Potter didn't come out till I was an adult, because I'd have wanted so hard for it to be real that it would have been painful. Ah, escape!

    1. Thank you Mim! I "grew up with" Harry Potter and vividly remember dreaming about receiving a Hogwarts letter at 11, sadly it never came of course, but my dreaming about it never went away!
