Lemons in the Garden, and Monéteau and Auxerre

Another turn about the garden and one last yummy multi-course traditional French meal in the countryside before heading up to Paris! I wore my lemon sateen dress for the occassion and styled it with red this time for a fun color combination. If only I could have packed my big red straw hat and red heels, but suitcase space is always limited you know.

As excited as I am to show you all photos from Paris, I hope these last several posts from Burgundy have introduced the Yonne region to some of you who may have not known how great a place it is to visit. I envy the British Isles and Europe being relatively close to all of their immediate neighbors and able to travel so well without having to fly or drive crazy large distances. If only it were as simple for me to be able to hop on a short Easy Jet flight or a train and be in a new region or city to explore within a few hours. Instead I have to cross the entire Atlantic first before undertaking European adventures! So for those of you with such wonderful places quite near, get out and explore them! I know I'll be back as soon as I'm able <3

Monéteau and Auxerre are such delightful places, and I have been so lucky to visit both twice now. Good friends make a town even more wonderful of course, but the region truly is like a fairy-tale land.

Luckily back home in Colorado the snow has finally melted away for the last time this year (okay, I'm still technically risking such in saying that!) and everything has finally turned green again! Having enjoyed France's flowers, now I can finally enjoy ours too! First I've got to go finish that eyelet dress though...

    1. Thank you Janey! The lemon fabric is from Gertie's fabric line at Joanns, I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it online!

  2. This trip really does keep giving - giving us delightful pictures and glorious outfits. I could never bore of Burgundy (who could?) but I am now looking forward to Paris. Your dress is fabulous against the lush green backdrop. Who'd have thought red accessories, but you have made them work so well. Kx

    1. Thank you! I only wish I could have brought the red shoes to finish the look, but my luggage was heavy enough!

  3. I'm just lapping up all these photos from your trip, keep them coming!!
I thought that might be the Gertie fabric, it's gorgeous. Love the neckline and sleeves you chose for that dress, it works so well, very flattering indeed.

We do indeed have Europe on our doorstep, that's a reminder to me that I need to book something for later in the year! x

    1. Thanks Porcelina! I have a lot of sweetheart neckline and kimono sleeve dresses, but they are easy to make and fun to wear!
