Dolce Vita

While I move further and further away from modern fashion these days, I used to be quite devoted to watching the high fashion runways. I like the beautiful things that come down the runway even if I'll never be able to shop such pricey luxuries. Still, I realized if there was one look I could replicate myself it would be Dolce & Gabbana's constant love for all things viva l'Italia. The look usually manifests in their shows and advertising spreads as lovely Italian ladies (sometimes of various generations), wearing black dresses (often black lace) with lots of gold jewelry and roses in their hair. So I put on my black dress, layered on some gold coin jewelry, and topped my slicked back bun with a gigantic flower crown.

A fun look for a long weekend, sadly I didn't spend it in Italy! Now it's back to the sewing room for me, I'm working on a red dress with a bit of a deadline...

  1. Oh but you could have fooled me - the spot you picked to shoot this outfit looks just as I imagine a side street in a gorgeous little Italian town to look! I really love how the addition of the flower crown really softens this timeless black dress, you look incredibly elegant.
