I'm not usually one to do a haul style post, but as I love reading them I thought today I'd make a little exception. I didn't pick up much on my California trip as I had a hotel room and Disneyland to pay for, but I did find a cute pair of 50's bombshell style mules in turquoise at my grandma's favorite bargain shoe place in San Diego. My grandma also had a huge bag of vintage hankies (with a few scarves thrown in too) for me to go through and choose which ever ones I'd like! Thanks grandma <3
I did pick up two items at Disneyland too, a black pullover with a fun neon design (I'd show you but i'ts already in the washer!) that I bought to combat the chill once the sun went down at the park and a fun Tiki Room themed cloth napkin which I plan to frame rather than use to set the table! I thought the design was fun and would go great in my soon to be redecorated sewing room.
Then of course there was my big purchase, my first pair of Remix Vintage shoes! The style is called Garnet and I bought the black suede and brown croc version. What a shoe store! One small white room lined in the most gorgeous retro shoes a girl could ever dream of! I wanted a pair of each! Though that wasn't in the budget on this trip, I still made a point to try on a few other styles so that I can know my size for future online orders ;) The sales girl was super friendly and neither pushy nor annoyed I wanted to try on extra styles. I totally recommend visiting if you are in the Southern California area, but save your pennies and prepare to be indecisive!

Now I have exhausted my shopping budget for a while, it's time to go back to work! I do have an Ikea trip planned for this weekend to get started on my sewing room revamp though ;)
The Remix store is an absolute dream! I'm glad you were able to go.

It really was, I was in heaven! I can't wait to indulge in another pair, hopefully soon!
DeleteWhat terrific treasures. The vintage hankies and scarves from your sweet grandma are beautiful! I'm really sorry that happened with your new shoes. I can just imagine what a sinking feeling it must have been to realize that after the fact. Fingers crossed that the folks at Remix are able to help you out.

Thanks Jessica! My grandma said she knows there is "another box of hats somewhere" too (!) so I told her if she finds those to send them onto me and I can either wear them or put them on Etsy! They have a few garages full of inherited treasures that there is just never enough time to sort through and occasionally I get goodies from the hoard. Luckily Remix have said they will reimburse me for the repairs, so that's all good and I'll get them fixed up this week!
DeleteHopefully you can get that issue resolved, as they really are lovely shoes x
ReplyDeleteThanks Porcelina, Remix have said they will reimburse me for the repairs so all will be well soon :)
DeleteRemix shoes are the best! I have several pairs, they are the only heels I find comfortable. Yours are gorgeous. My only sorrow is all the wedges come in full sizes and I need a half size.
ReplyDeleteThey were very dreamy to see in person, I can't wait to add to my collection in the future!
DeleteThe collection of hankies is lovely and the turquoise shoes are a beautiful colour.
