Vintage Cottons
Well I don't know about you, but I am feeling exhausted this week! I cant seem to catch up on sleep so far, but hopefully an early night and some good Z's will fix me up for some serious sewing progress ahead. I would never want you all to think I'm neglecting you, so I do have a little treat today by way of this most excellent video I stumbled upon on YouTube this week detailing cotton manufacturing and fashions from 1940's England. The process of weaving cotton has changed little, though everything is by computers now! The fashion show at the end is divine!

Fabulous, interesting and very patriotic! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
DeleteOh god I need EVERY OUTFIT!! With the hats! Including the ladies in the audience.

I know right! I totally agree, the ladies watching have such great hats, I am totally jealous of them!
DeleteOne of everything, pretty please!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the exhaustion front. I'm really knackered myself at the moment, as our home organization/DIY jobs continue for a second straight week. Hope we can both get some much needed R&R soon.
♥ Jessica
It will be so worth it when you have everything nice and organized though! Nothing better than a fully organized and refreshed house, I need to do my entire bedroom!
DeleteI really enjoyed watching this, especially as I live in an area where there were lots of mills. The fashions are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed it Kate! The fashions are indeed gorgeous, I'll take one of everything please!
