Doesn't this vintage brooch look like the Hunger Games mockingjay pin? Albeit a tiny rhinestone studded tropical version. This little bird was a Christmas present to myself...oops. It is very likely that I could be defined as a bit of a shopaholic, someone change my etsy passwords....
I also snapped up this amazing hat back around Thanksgiving, isn't it too divine! Navy blue felt with colorful velvet ribbons and covered entirely in iridescent blue seed beads! And it fits perfectly! I am so glad to finally have a navy felt hat, as my little navy straw hat would be very out of place worn in winter. I paired it with my trusty deep navy pencil skirt and a red mock-neck sweater from Forever 21. I may not be particularly patriotic but sometimes my outfits turn out that way, red and blue just look too great together.
Looking at these photos I can't help but miss all the greenery that usually fills this same stretch of park. Not a leaf to be seen these days, but I suppose they will be back eventually. For now I must get used to barren trees and piles of shaded snow. At least it has been above freezing this week!

Despite the lack of greenery it still looks like a beautiful day! Where I live it's none-stop rain, so there's no hope of snow or blue skies just yet. :( Have you ever heard the song "Blue Skies" by Vaughn de Leath? It's a lovely song from the 1920s that just popped into my head as soon as I saw this post.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm quite partial to the Ella Fitzgerald cover myself :) I hope the rain lets up for you soon, though knowing England it could be a long shot!
DeleteGorgeous photos, and love that outfit. Very nice indeed x
ReplyDeleteThank you Porcelina! <3
Delete*Picks jaw up off the ground* That hat is everything!!! Seriously, wow. Like wow to the nth degree kind of wow. Honestly, that's one of my favourite vintage hats that I've ever seen. Awesome score, sweet dear! It compliments this timelessly pretty outfit to an absolute tee!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & happy weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
Thank you Jessica! This hat cost me (drum roll please...) $12! Yep. Total steal! And it fits perfectly, I had luck on my side that day while browsing etsy! Though really with my hat obsession...I need to block etsy on my computer ;)
DeleteYou don't need the green when you provide the bright colour! This is such a classic look, with the added fun of your hat! Kx
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is one of my most fun hats for sure :)
DeleteThat hat is just perfect! So pretty! I really like the way the rest of your outfit lets the hat and the brooch sing out.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kate! :)
