I know it's only November, but seeing as there is buckets of snow and a fierce wind howling outside my window I thought I would pull some wintry weather inspiration for you all today. After all, as the Stark's would say, winter is coming.

Whether fall is still going strong in your area of the world or like me you already have snow interrupting autumn, I hope you are having a lovely week. I was supposed to be sitting in jury duty today, but due to inclement weather they closed the courts! Imagine my relief, I didn't want to drive in the snow! Plus #I'dRatherBeSewing

  1. Ooo what lovely imagery! I love those two piece fur trimmed suits for winter.... :)
We've finally seen the first sprinkle of snow here in Norway (but it's melting). When I was little, there would be three feet of snow at this time of year. Now it's just too darn hot, climate change definitely is real. I love the winter and snow, and can't wait to go skiing. In the meatime, there will be sewing :D

    1. It has been snowing for two days here in Colorado! Strange to think it is warmer there in Norway than it is here in the middle of the US! I am not the biggest snow fan, but only because I hate to drive in it. I does render everything sparkling and charming and can be very pretty though! I haven't been skiing in a few years now, I fear how sore I would be the next day were I to attempt to go this season!

  2. I love all these pictures! They make me want to dress up in my best dresses and knit a matching scarf (if only I could knit). Hope you have a lovely week too!

    1. Thanks Nora! Luckily London doesn't usually get particularly snowy. It only snowed once when I was there back in January 2012, but everything looked so magical. I was supposed to go on a trip to Windsor and Hampton Court that day with some people from my school, and we did still go, but London was freaking out because they just don't plan well for snow! So of course when we got to Windsor they had closed the castle for health and safety reasons (slippery I guess?) but they still opened Hampton Court and I think it was made extra magical by the dusting of snow. Enjoy that English winter!

  4. Swoon worthily stellar images! The striped skirt suit in particular sent shivers of vintage fashion loving excitement tumbling through my body. I wouldn't say that I wear a lot of stripes in general, but when I do, they tent to be vertical ones and something about that suit appeals to me so very much - I think it may be that even back in the day, we didn't see a ton of vertically striped women's suits (let alone non-pinstripe ones). Thank you for all these great shares!

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Thanks Jessica, that striped suit is pretty divine! I am in full suit envy mode as I don't have a single vintage suit myself, which needs to change very soon! I have tailoring plans for this winter as I've got two fabrics waiting in my sewing room to become winter suits!

  5. Marvellous winter fashion inspiration. I particularly like the Butterick illustration with the coat trimmed in the same fabric as the dress. Hope you are keeping warm and cosy!

    1. Thanks Kate! I really liked the colors of that illustration, so great together. I am so far, though I may need a new coat this season!
