Highland Wanderer

I had originally planned to show you guys this ensemble, the second outfit from my day in the mountains, next week but life had other plans! In full disclosure, I was planning on shooting photos of another outfit to show you all today, but everything went wrong! My hair came out kinda weird, the lighting was not cooperating at all...you get the idea! So these photos got bumped up to today! Just goes to show not every day is instagram-worthy-perfect, but you've got to roll with the punches sometimes!

This golden yellow sweater has sadly seen better days and I am actively seeking a replacement. I just love this color so much! I'd like to invest in something a bit better quality (this one was from Target) that will last longer. I would have never normally thought to pair this bright yellow with the dark plaid, but I have been trying to expand my styling horizons! This vintage scarf printed with pheasants is one of my favorites and ended up matching perfectly. The hat was made out of the same plaid wool fabric as the skirt and again features pheasant feathers! This skirt holds a special place in my mind as the first time I ever wore it was the first day I arrived in London for my study abroad way back in 2012. I'll never forget getting lost in a rainy Hyde Park in my jet lag induced haze wearing this very skirt.

Though I may have been in Colorado's highlands, rather than Scotland's, I thought only plaid would do for such an alpine landscape :)

Loving the plaid skirt, I find it hard to get good plaid wool here in Norway (but there's always online shopping ;)

    1. Thanks Siri! I'm not sure this color is one of the best on me, but with a scarf to break it up it isn't so bad. How strange/annoying that plaid is hard to find over there! Online shopping is the best <3

  3. This colour palette is pure autumnal perfection! Warm, elegant, sophisticated and strikingly beautiful. Love, love, love!!!

For some odd reason - not sure if it's Blogloving or Blogger itself - I couldn't seem to be able to leave a comment on your previous post about Pendleton fashions, but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I'll be daydreaming about the red plaid circle skirt + red sweater for ages now! :)

Have an awesome first weekend of October, my dear friend,
    ♥ Jessica

*PS* Many big thanks for your great email this week. I look forward to replying to it asap. ♥

    1. Thank you Jessica! How annoying that it wouldn't let you comment, this worked too though :) Wouldn't that be the most perfect Christmas outfit? So cute!

<3 I hope you are having a lovely weekend too!

    1. Thank you Rike! Colorado is a pretty beautiful place, best in summer and fall, in winter the snow can be pretty too but once it melts everything is bland tan and grey.

  5. A bit late with a comment, but what absolutely stunning pictures. I love the colours of the outfit - the jumper especially, but the colours are awesome together. And you're right, they work beautifully against the landscape! Kx

  7. I absolutely love how the colours in your outfit mirror the colours in the landscape. They are both gorgeous! I really like this dark plaid paired with that lovely sunny jumper. You do look like you should be striding across the moors in the Scottish Highlands!

    1. Thank you Kate! One day I intend to do just that, all I have seen of Scotland is Edinburgh, and as amazing as that visit was I can't wait to go back and see much more of the country!

    2. I have been to Edinburgh and Glasgow and loved them both and have spent a few days on the west coast but I want to explore Scotland more. My friend is on holiday on the Isle of Skye at the moment and it looks so breathtakingly beautiful. Look at marthathemini on Instagram if you want to check it out!
