Look at those dark clouds behind me! It started raining like crazy twenty minutes later, and I got soaked (after changing out of this dress) looking for my cat outside. Sadly he still hasn't reappeared, so hopefully he's just hiding until the rain stops.
I finished making this dress earlier in the day when the sun was still out. This was the last of the few fabrics I had bought from an Etsy shop based in India. Sadly the shop has since closed, which is a bummer because they had great cotton prints! I used the same pattern as my last circle skirted 50's dress (seen here) as it is just so quick to put together. I paired it with simple black accessories this time, but I can see myself pairing it with many other brighter colors in the future.
I finally broke down and bought a new pair of black heels from Modcloth. These are the "The Zest is History" heels in black suede. I really like them! I wore them running errands yesterday to break them in and they are quite comfortable! I may have accidentally already ordered them in navy too...oops! :)

What a stunning outfit, you look gorgeous! Is your cat already home?
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey! He finally came home at around 5am! I was worried sick all night! He seems okay, but he has a little scratch above his eye and seems to have hurt one of his back toes. He will not be going outside for a long while after this adventure!
DeleteThe atmosphere in these photos is great - good work with using the poor weather to your advantage! Not to mention how stylish and classy your dress is! The silhouette is so flattering, and your hair and beads match perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI hope your cat comes back soon!
Thanks Ellie! The rain was pretty epic when it began soon after these photos. Maybe it just seemed that way because I was out in it getting drenched! He eventually came home around 5am this morning! (After I had already put up lost cat signs last night, so I'll have to go take those down now, thank goodness!)
DeleteBeautiful dress and photos! I hope kitty comes home.
ReplyDeleteThank you Piper! He's home now and I am so relieved!

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWonderful dress! And nice shoes. Oh, how I wish I could wear heels, but my feet sadly has had enough of that sort :(
ReplyDeleteGlad your kitty turned up, I just loose my mind when they go missing!
Thanks Siri! I assure you I don't wear heels all the time, I could never wear them to work as I stand the whole time. I was so relieved he came home, I did not sleep well last night!
