Winter Wonderland Outfit

It has been pretty darn cold around here lately, and the world has been consistently coated in white as far as the eye can see. Luckily today it was finally above 40 degrees, so my intrepid photographer and I drove up to the local viewpoint and captured some photos of the foothills blanketed in snow. Colorado really is a gorgeous place, even if I complain about getting my car stuck in the snow every so often, I can't fail to notice how pretty it can be!

This coat has been in my closet since high school when I picked it up for under $20 at my favorite local thrift shop. It is made of thick wool and being so long it keeps me toasty warm despite its shorter bracelet length sleeves. I'm pretty sure it is from the 70's but I think it looks rather late 40's when styled correctly. I have been wearing it constantly since it has been so cold around here!

I would like to note that my hair was perfectly sculpted before I stepped out of the car into the wind! I lost that battle pretty quickly, the wind always wins! So excuse my many flyaways! I received a four pack of E.L.F cosmetics eyeliners for Christmas and wasn't sure if they would have the same staying power as my usual liner. Mind you I usually buy cheap eyeliner, Wet'n'Wild, and have since high school because it works perfectly and stays all day. I should have known better than to doubt E.L.F, because this new navy liner works like a charm! It will be nice to switch it up sometimes and sport a navy cat eye instead of a black one.

Say hello to my new navy pumps! A Christmas gift from my parents, and I am so so happy to finally have navy blue shoes! You too can add these pumps to your closet as they are available at Modcloth!
They are the I'm Sew Excited Heel in Navy, and are a darker navy than they appear on the product page but I am glad they are truly navy blue instead of royal blue.

I think I might actually get time to sew again finally later this week, I plan on getting that darn Victorian chemise finished so I can move onto more fun things! I have a pile of fabrics waiting to be turned into new pencil skirts and dresses for the rest of this winter. I even have two different peacock feather print brocade skirts in the queue! I hope you are all having a lovely week, stay warm out there!

    1. Thank you Porcelina! I have been on a make-up kick lately, sometimes I get lazy and do the bare minimum for a while, but then I'll find a new beauty guru on YouTube I like and get back into eye shadows!

Happy New Year to you as well :)
