I would like to begin tonight by making this simple statement: Aveda Clove Color Conditioner is better than several hair dyes I have used in my life for giving one rich brown hair again. I had some dark blonde brassy-ness happening after all of my recent hair shenanigans, and this brown conditioner (that looks like soft melted dark chocolate and will stain your hair, and hands, and sink...) has given me warm brown hair again! It also smells divine which is an added bonus. Alas, I am now a brunette again, and in a darker/warmer shade than I had originally planned, but at least my hair isn't one of the several other wild colors it mysteriously cycled through recently-- so I can't really complain!
And even better than having a relatively normal hair color again, my eye has returned to it's usual shape after a mild infection rendered my right eyelid red and puffy for most of the last week, leaving me looking more like Quasimodo than myself. Today was the first day I had worn eye makeup in a week and it felt so amazing to have my winged eyeliner back on! Silly but true. I celebrated by getting all dressed up in full 50's petticoated floof for a trip to Joanns to buy zippers and some bias tape. Such an errand warrants high patent heels and a flouncy crinoline right? Today it did.
Now that the first draft of my new novel is done (it still sounds both crazy awesome, and also very pretentious somehow just typing that...), I am very excited to break back into sewing and making videos again. I'm very glad I chose to turn down everything else I usually split my time between and just focus on writing the past few months, as it was super rewarding and often incredibly fun (writing is fun, in fact...I really love it), but I have missed my other passions! I have some lovely fabrics from Mood that I hope to turn into new clothes very soon, hence today's zipper shopping...
I hope you are all well and enjoying flowering trees wherever you live as well, they are my favorite part of spring...

ReplyDeleteIt's not pretentious at all to talk about your novel. It's such a huge accomplishment to write one, and I hope you keep us posted with all the progress.
