I'll admit it, I have tons more sewing planned for this fall, but these are the projects I will be diving into first. I've got some more fabrics laying about that have been waiting to become clothes for a while now, but if I talked about each and every fabric this video would have been hours long!
I've actually lost some of my energy for sewing currently, I really wish I could snap my fingers and projects would magically materialize without me having to do all the work! That's my impatience talking I suppose, there are only two options in these situations- either push through and sew anyways or take a break. Yesterday I decided to take a break, and today I feel ready to start sewing again. For any of you seamstresses out there, what do you do when your brain tries to decide there will be no sewing that day?
I am so looking forward to your finished products! You are quite the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa!
DeleteWhenever I feel bad about my stash (and uh it's def bad how huge it is...) I remember about a woman I knew who had a second house that was basically a warehouse of stash fabric. And she never used it! If she was working on a project, she bought something new. So - as long as I'm not as bad as her, I'm doing ok :P
ReplyDeleteI love fall sewing too - I'm planning two wool dresses from stash - indigo crepe and violet suiting. Watching all of the wool start rolling in is the best part of the change in season :)
it could always be worse I suppose! Indigo crepe and violet suiting both sound pretty gorgeous, sounds fun!
DeleteI just had a major clean out of everything I own, and got rid of a large bin bags worth of fabrics. I still have 3 large chest of drawers stuffed to the brim, but at least now I know what I have. I find it especially hard to pass up a good suiting fabric. I sew my own trousers and I probably have enough fabrics to keep me in trousers for the next 5 years or so, if I aim at 2 pairs a year. Oh well, at least I don't smoke or drink ;)
ReplyDeleteGood suiting is the best, I love suits so I am all about nice suiting fabric. One day I have to take some proper tailoring lessons!
DeleteI have a huge stash.. although a lot of it is scraps of fancy fabrics and quilter's cottons for crazy quilting and art quilting, so my apparel stash isn't quite as bad as it looks. I am dying to start sewing, but my sewing machine is crap and I don't want to subject my precious wools and rayons to that thing!
ReplyDeleteI always tell myself it's okay to save small pieces in case I ever make a crazy quilt, but the odds are slim! I have never quilted before and I don't even have enough time for all the projects I already have ;)
DeleteI enjoyed getting a glimpse of what will be coming up in your wardrobe. Some great plans. I especially liked the dark florals and that aubergine and gold brocade. If it makes you feel better I have both a fabric stash and a yarn stash, both of which could do with reducing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate-Em! I love aubergine, I even went back to my dark purple hair, I just love the color! I have some yarn in my stash and I can't even knit very well yet ;)
