Quintana Roo

As I type these words, it is through a haze of travel-day-tired and O M G why am I trying to get a post-up-tonight craziness. I got back from a wonderful time in Tulum Mexico just hours ago, and I have the dozen mosquito bites to prove it! (I am a magnet!)

So, no, this will not be a loquacious post as I am about to fall asleep here at the keyboard. Still, I wanted to get one outfit up tonight for you all as I resume my more usual schedule again this week. Once I knew I'd be traveling to Mexico I took it as a great excuse to buy this amazing vintage hand painted Mexican tourist skirt. I have always envied such fun circle skirts on other vintage gals and snapped this one up as it had cute cranes and lama/donkey/? creatures in the design. The more muted metallic colors suit my own style perfectly, and for a humid day in Tulum I paired the skirt with a simple black knit top and large gold filigree earrings for ultimate ease.

Now really I have to get to bed as I have to get back to work in the morning, but I'll have more from Tulum for you all soon!

Skirt: Vintage (Etsy)
Top: Banana Republic
Shoes: DSW
Earrings: World Market

    1. Thank you Katha! One could presumably paint something similar on a plain black circle skirt, I may have to do a DIY sometime :)

  3. How absolutely stunning! That skirt is a real treasure, and I love how you've let it sing by pairing it with neutral pieces. I hope your trip to Tulum was as wonderful as these photos make it look!

    1. Thank you Porcelina! I got back the night before the election here, so post holiday blues were different but much worse then simply missing the beach!

  5. What a beautiful skirt for a beautiful country! Some enterprising Mexican people should start making them again, I bet they'd be popular.
