Barnside Galmour

You know all those glamorous barnyards? No? Okay, so I was driving by and knew my floral blouse would look nice against the red, I have no excuse to be near a barn normally!

This has got to be one of my top favorite blouses just for the sheer fun of the sleeves billowing around. I simply must make a few more projects using this sleeve pattern! Dispite the random spell of warmer weather we've been having, and the calender's start of spring approaching, it is still winter here in Colorado. Winter here means that unless the world is covered in sparkling snow, it is mostly grey dead plants and barren trees...not very attractive. It won't be until the end of April that green leaves start to return, which is enough to almost make me wish for snow to beautify the surroundings even if it makes driving a bit of a mess.

The red suede belt I have on here is a more recent acquisition, and is most certainly from the 1980's. 80s belts are the best, whenever I see a nice suede one in a thinner width I try to snatch them up! If you look at ads for belts from the 40s and 50s the belts are remarkably similar to the belts made later in the 80s! Very convenient for us modern vintage wearers! I am so happy to have found a red number for my collection! You can almost spot in these photos my new pair of carved bakelite earrings in yellow I found to match the brooch I picked up in January. They are actually my first genuine Bakelite items to enter my collection! (the brooch itself is an unknown material)

I hope you are all having a lovely week as we roll into March!

  2. I hope the farmer didn't mind! Our barns don't look as colourful here in the UK, they're either practical modern ones made from corrugated iron (not very photogenic) or the old stone ones have been converted into homes! Not as good for photo opportunities.. Thanks for the tips on '80s belts xx

    1. Oh is wasn't on a real farm, this barn is luckily in a public garden! So no trespassing was necessary ;)

  3. Really fantastic outfit! (Those shoes - uber swoon!) Barns make for such marvelous backdrops. There aren't many (at all) in our town, so they're something I really try to look for when out and about further afield.

Big hugs & happy weekend wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Thank you Jessica! The shoes get dirty really easily so they don't get worn very often sadly. I am always looking out for a different colored barn or perhaps the perfect brick wall...#justbloggerthings ;)
