    1. Hello Erica! I'm sorry to say I'm pretty sure I just searched "striped button front blouse" or something similar on google/pinterest until I saw one that worked! Sorry I can't be of any help :(

  2. I am obsessed with Eve Arden's two beautiful brooches she wears in the film "Cover Girl" and am searching everywhere for them. I cannot get a close look at them but the top one looks like a koi fish and the bottom one looks like a goldfish. Do you know anything about them? I have looked at Eisenberg, Coro, Hattie Carnegie, etc...and just am stumped! I absolutely love the fashions and wish more women would wear them now! Thank you for your help!

  3. Hello Bianca, I have a question for you regarding where you source your fabrics. I think you mention JoAnns a lot, which I know, but I am in love with a pattern you have which I can't quite catch where you got it from in the video you posted. It is a fabric with flowers and some of the flowers are dancers. Could you please give me an idea where I could find it or at least a similar pattern? Thank you so much!

    1. Unfortunately I picked that fabric up from a discount table of a local shop here in the Denver Metro area called Colorado Fabrics several years ago, so I am not sure where else something similar may be available :(

  4. Hello Bianca! I adore your videos! I was wondering what you'd recommend for a vintage archaeologist style? I love adventure style, but would it look the same for an archaeologist? Thanks!

    1. Thank you! I would say adventure style certainly encompasses archaeologist style, though my own looks tend to be a bit more "seeking funding for new expedition with patrons at luncheon" than "in the field" myself. I have a pinterest board for adventure style in general, and probably the more practical of those looks (jodhpurs/trousers etc.) would be very vintage archaeologist appropriate! https://www.pinterest.com/bmesposito/adventure-style/

  5. Bianca- At 69 I remember wearing some of the clothes that are now vintage, so I think I can claim a certain authority! Two vintage accessories I recommend for an authentic look- wrist watches and charm bracelets. Before cell phones a wrist watch was an expensive and elegant accessory for most women, and charm bracelets have been popular for many decades. I recently bought one on ebay with a charm of a twin fuselage airplane from about 1949! Also, I always carry a handkerchief-cheap to find at flea markets and vintage clothing stores and so nice to have when there are no paper towels in public restrooms...

  7. Hi Bianca - love your site! I sell vintage handbags and accessories and have learned so much about some of my bags from you. For example, just sold a box bag of PlasticFlex, not really knowing it's origins until I read your blog. Think it's gone to a good home! I used to dress vintage when I was younger but am now hesitating but I've been inspired by your fab look. Best!

  8. Do you have a P.O. box? I have some scarves from my grandmother that aren't my style, but I'm pretty sure you would love them. I donate a lot to the thrift store, but I would rather give them to someone who would truly appreciate them if I can.

  9. I have thoroughly enjoyed your youtube channel. Way to go...I recently live vicariously through your hauls, but not because I don't have enough of my own hauls. I love you film techniques and poses and I share your affinity for the vintage and the feline. Keep it up, friend in my head.

  10. I love your YouTube channel. The late '40s thru '50s styles are my favorite. From my android phone I'm not finding where I can subscribe to your blog.
Keep up the good work...you're gorgeous...I have 2/3 your figure...lol. More of a watermelon than an hour glass, though.

  13. I'm enjoying your you tube videos so much! I have a quick question. I'm making a 1 hour 20s dress for my 11 year old granddaughter out of cotton. My question is how much ease should I add? She is 26 bust and 38 inches from shoulder to Mid calf, so easy to sew for 20s style! I can't make a muslin first because she lives a few hours away. I have some experience sewing, but am new to drafting patterns.
    Thanks,
    Kim

  15. Love the YouTube videos. You mentioned to let you know of some good solid rayon crepe my local fabric store has some https://www.hartsfabric.com/rf-rayon-crepe-caribbean-101344.html
In different colors, I ordered from them and do curbside pick-up during the pandemic I trust them and have never been disappointed they also will match the thread color for you. I like 1930’s & 40’s doing a 1940’s lined wool jacket isn’t as hard as you think, I also think that bias cut isn’t as difficult as people fear it is.

  16. Hi Bianca,
I've been enjoying your videos and finding inspiration in them and thought of you today because... I bought a 1953 Australian Home Journal magazine online but when it arrived the promised patterns were not included. The seller has refunded me but I don't really have any further use for the magazine and thought you might like to have it (ideas for drafting patterns abound in it). I'd be happy to post it to you if you'd like to contact me with your address?

  17. Hmm. Could have sworn I had hit "publish" but my comment isn't here :-( ... I've been watching your videos and been inspired to do a basic pattern drafting course earlier this year. I'm writing because I bought a 1953 edition of Australian Home Journal online but it came without the three free patterns so I thought of offering it to you for lovely 1950s inspiration. If you'd like to contact me with a postal address I'd happily send it to you!

  18. Hi Bianca,

I love your youtube channel, combing through your older videos helped keep my sanity together through a decent chunk of COVID lol. Over the past few years I've been collecting more and more vintage pieces and recently I have indulged in my love of vintage suits and bought two (very cheap) sets and have altered them to fit me (one is wool and one is a silk blend with wool or cotton I think). However they are both quite...fragrant. Do you have any tips on cleaning and caring for true vintage, especially ones that need a bit more love? I've been researching cleaning options for a while now and was just curious if you've tried anything in particular.

    Best,

    Kristina

  21. Hello Bianca, I would also like your p.o. box if you have one. I found a hat at Goodwill from the 40s or 50s with netting I would like to send to you. I love your videos even though I don't sew much. I very much enjoy your humor and your knowledge.
