Lash Love

I have never really worn false eyelashes other than a few brief experiments in high school. Recently, as I have been getting more and more into makeup again, I noticed that all the beauty guru people wear false eyelashes all the darn time! So, as a result I figured I would give them a try...

And these ones are huge! How do people wear these daily? I find them really uncomfortable actually, like...I always know they are there? What are the false lash rules? Everyone knows they're fake right? Because they are SO LONG, but like, do we all just pretend they aren't fake? I don't think I get it.

Except, I do LOVE how they look in photos. Hmm.

Have you ever worn false eyelashes? What are your thoughts? ;)

  1. I've never worn them because of my glasses. However, I have seen women with glasses wearing really long and thick eyelashes. I may try it out myself in the future, but I'd probably go with extension that I don't have to worry about putting on and taking off on a daily basis.

  2. I had mine dyed recently and it's made next to no difference! Ah well! I had my eyebrows done at the same time and was very pleased with those, though it's a little odd finally having eyebrows.

The false lashes you're wearing are lovely, very delicate. You have beautiful eyes, and the lashes really show them off.

  3. I wore false lashes in my late teens through college all the time, and they were okay, but kind of like a nuisance because the end would pop up or something partway through the day. Then I got some a few years ago, and discovered that, because my upper eyelids sag so much now, I pretty much can't use them. No room to get them on and they'd be right up against my upper lid. So disappointed!

    1. Bummer! They are rather fiddly to use in general for sure!

  4. I decided to try some a couple of weeks ago. Less bothersome than I expected but I only kept them on for a short period as it was just an experimentation day. Also, I had woken with seriously dry eyes so experimenting with eyeliner, and lashes etc!
I loved the look though I prefer them shorter. I want the hint of thickness rather than length. I used 3/4 accent lashes which I felt more comfortable with. As I have very hooded eyes, I think these look much better and made me "look" like I had a wing. I can't have a proper thick wing as it will disappear. But very thin eyeliner and also underlining in the upper waterline with the 3/4 lashes worked beautifully. Might try them for an evening out soon.

    1. Fun! I am rather lucky to have "nice" eyelashes already, so I have just never bothered with false ones, which sounds a bit terrible but is true ;)

  5. I have a latex allergy so gluing anything to my eyelashes is out, but I adore the look on you.

    1. Thank you! They do have latex free glues, but I can understand even those may irritate sensitive eyes.

  6. I think the false eyelashes you are wearing look great. What brand/style are they? I bought some a couple of years ago, but they languish in my make up drawer never having been worn...

  8. I know it's not on topic of your post, but I wanted to share something I found about the 1920's in the netherlands. I personally hadn't seen the footage before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-A9cMV3X-0

  9. Ardelle has lashes that are a little more "natural". They're much lighter, and don't look quite so fake, but they still have the same effect for photos. I still definitely don't wear them every day, but for a nice night out, they're great!
