Candy Apple Red

This year I found a candy apple red faux leather 1950s/60s clutch handbag to match my red Bait heels I picked up last black friday, but unfortunately I doubt I will ever be able to do the same for the twin pair I have in the sparkling deep green. Has anyone seen a racing green metallic leather clutch out there in the wilds?

The perfect accessories for the holiday season, this time I paired the red shoes and bag with my favorite top to wear during this time of year and my black circle skirt. I'm certain circle skirts just are not as sophisticated as the pencil variety, but they are so damn fun. Especially with a petticoat and a little spin. The faux fur trimmed gloves were a recent find, and I picked them up while at the Denver Art Museum to see the Dior exhibition in the museum's gift shop funny enough. The faux fur is super soft, and the fleece lined gloves are very warm and great for winter. The only bummer is that despite the little satin sections on the fingertips, the gloves still don't work with my phone. If I'm going to have silly looking little satin bits on my fingertips, they might as well actually do what they are supposed to! Oh well.

I am going to have a little time off of the 'ol day job here for the holidays, and something I really want to do is set aside one day to really "recover" from the year and have an entire self care day. I won't look at my social media, will finish the two books I have been putting off finishing up reading, do a face mask, and finally watch the Marvelous Mrs Maisel, or at least that's the plan. I have a really hard time taking an actual full day off. I always either film a video, edit my writing/photos/videos, write, run errands or find other various "work-ish" related tasks I feel I must do on any given day, and I really need to learn to not feel guilty about taking actual dedicated time to relax. I have my side hustles, and any time I could be working on them I feel I should be. But recovering and rejuvenating are just as important as working hard when it comes to creative work, and it's yet another balance I have yet to strike in my life. I hope you all will get a day, an evening, or even just an hour to do something nice for yourself this next week, even if it is just in doing nothing at all.

  2. If you hand stitch a spiral on the fingertip/thumbtip to mimic a fingerprint whirl it might work with smartphones. I've done this with some gloves using cotton embroidery thread and it's worked

Your challenge was a welcome distraction from trying to find a vintage birthday present for my friend before the 28th :D Have a nice break ~
