However, the fun buttons on the yoke of the dress bodice do make it hard to pair with a brooch, so this time I pinned the brooch onto my hat instead! I always forget how versatile beret hats are since they can be worn molded into different shapes. Flat, tilted, on the back of the head, pulled over the ears, and even jazzed up with jewelry pinned on! I am on the look out for berets in other colors now, especially in forest green or navy blue.
Though you probably can't tell from these photos, I've had my hair cut into a modified middy! Yep layers, eek! I have to set it now right? Above you see it styled my usual way with a 1/2" barrel curling iron and curling everything under/down. I'd like to use foam rollers and some pin curls more, especially since it's better for my hair to get a break from heat styling. Anyone have a favorite setting pattern I should try out?

Exceptionally beautiful photographs - I love the one of the windmill thing through the trees. Cosy looking dress! I am yet to pin a brooch to a beret, I'll have to give it a whirl.
ReplyDeleteThank you Porcelina! The windmill is all that's left of an old farm that used to be where this park is now. Though I noticed they seemed to be doing some tree removal, which was very disappointing as I love this park and now they have tractors everywhere digging big trenches and digging out nice old trees! Hopefully they wont ruin the whole place :(

ReplyDeleteIn terms of pin-curling patterns, I start doing one that works well for me, however, because my hair takes an hour and a half to pin-curl, I end up just going freestyle after a while. I have an insane amount of hair, it drives me mad! This is the one I use though - https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/26036504072899518/. You can see that one row curls towards the face, then the next curls away from the face and then repeat. The back is left flat apart from the bottom. xx
Thank you Cate! I really want to try alternating rows of pin curls like that as I have never done it before and am interested in the difference it makes in the results! Your hair always looks super lovey, so the effort is at least well worth the time! I never pin curl my hair as it takes ages to dry, even when I use foam rollers I barely spritz my dry hair before I roll it.
