Summer Camp

It wasn't what I was going for, but this outfit made me feel like the most super glam camp councilor ever, something about the khaki and a scarf at the neck I suppose. In truth it was watching Mogambo recently that made me tie on the scarf, as Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner wear them so wonderfully in that film.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I am loving having my hair bobbed, it makes achieving a 40s/50s pageboy-esk style super easy. Its been a few weeks and I still haven't even tried a wet set on it yet as styling it with a curling iron is so easy now! I tried something new with my make-up here with some more dramatic eye shadows, but I don't think I like it as much in photos as I did in the mirror. I have been playing with make-up a bit more in general lately as I explained recently on YouTube, switching to cruelty free and trying new things out. Colourpop (I'm wearing their lippie stix in JujuRouge in these photos) remains my favorite brand for both lipsticks and eye shadows, I just love their products! (not sponsored, I just really do!)

And yes that is a real beetle on my brooch, although it's only the jeweled wing casings set into metal. I'd love to get over my fear of insects one day so I try and make progress with jewelry! The bracelet I have on here is another favorite insect themed piece but this time they're bees, which I am much more tolerant of in general as I feel bad about them going extinct or what have you. Plus lots of people call me B, so I have ended up collecting a few bee themed things over the last few years. I'd love a bee print dress, or a silk scarf, I'm always on the hunt!

Did any of you ever go to summer camp? I did girl scout camps but I never went away for more than a few days, which is a good thing too as I love the comforts of home :)

  5. The scarf has great colours and really adds a little something to this lovely outfit. I like the insect theme jewellery too. I was a Girl Guide when I was young and we camped for a week each summer which was fun!
