Rebel Scum Through and Through

Rebellion, Resistance, and R2D2 and BB8 are nearby too, I'm there! The local air museum (Wings Over the Rockies) held a Star Wars event this weekend and when given the chance to see some awesome Star Wars prop replicas, I take it. Knowing I'd be seeing super cool aircraft from WWII (and other periods) mean't I was actually quite torn on what to wear, my usual 1940's duds or something Star Wars themed? When I spotted this black and gold cotton at Joanns this past week the question was solved for me, I'd just have to fuse the two!

I used my usual Kimono sleeve top pattern with buttons up the back and whipped up this top Saturday night to wear to the event on Sunday! I paired the themed top with a newly acquired rhinestone brooch (I'm in love with this brooch!), the wool skirt from my black vintage suit, and my new black plastiflex 40's clutch! I wanted another black bag for this summer and ended up deciding on this large style for its truly modern leaning forties flair. I might be hunting for another plastiflex already as I enjoyed using this one so much on Sunday!

With May 4th coming up this week, I hope you all can excuse my nerdiness coming through in today's outfit post :) We even watched The Force Awakens again as a family when we got home because Star Wars is awesome. I know I'll be visiting this museum again soon on a less crowded day to get a better look at the historic aircraft without stormtroopers and many small children running about!

    1. Thanks Kate! For the hair I started with sleeping in foam rollers, brushed through the curls with my fingers then pulled up each side front as if to do victory rolls but simply pinned the clusters of curls up above my forehead instead of combing them into a single roll. Hair tutorials coming soon, I know I've been promising for forever!
