Downtown Oldtown

It's not actually often I get a more urban setting to take photos of my outfits in, but there is no better spot than little downtown Fort Collins. I do love some old brick buildings with fading painted advertisements for bottled coca-cola high up on the walls.

I wore my twill separates for this more impromptu day trip up to my college town, This time I paired my dark navy jacket with my olive green skirt as I just love navy and olive together. Because the white buttons are quite the feature on this jacket, I chose white shoes and gloves to tie everything together. I have been having trouble getting my hair to cooperate this week (it's too healthy now, not the worst problem to have but I need to take a break from conditioner) so up in a scarf it went which was just as well since it was a windy weekend. This scarf was a thrifting find ages ago for .99c and has a map of France with fun colorful doodles in the French theme. I'd love a colorful tourist scarf from London someday, it's just a shame I can never find silk scarves when I'm traveling anymore as they obviously were a thing back in the 20th century. The fun navy box shaped purse was a recent find, as of ten minutes before we shot these pictures! I found it at my favorite shop in Fort Collins Wear it Again Sam, along with a classic red bandana and another silk scarf in tones of olive green. It was funny that two of the three finds of the day matched the outfit I was already wearing!

I have done a bit (a lot) of shop-therapy this week ;) So expect to see new hats and handbags soon! Girl has gotta have new handbags for summer right? I am so glad I started adding purses and gloves to my accessory wardrobe this year as I like how they complete the look. I hope you are all doing well as we start the last week of April!

  1. I also love greens and blues together, but you're absolutely right about the three hits of white tying this whole outfit together - beautiful. You have also tied your scarf so perfectly! Kx

    1. Thank you! The key to a head scarf for me is getting my hair relatively smooth underneath and then hitting it with a light misting of hairspray for a tiny big of grip, I'm still refining my technique :)

  2. Absolutely lovely - and deeply elegant - springtime look. That handbag turned my knees to Jell-o! Can't wait to hear/see more about the new ones that you've been picking up lately (three cheers for retail therapy! :)).
