Brick by Brick

It's just a bit odd to visit the town where you went to college. I see memories everywhere in old town Fort Collins; the resturants my friends and I frequented, the bars we haunted most weekends, everything familiar and yet now somehow removed. I can certainly say, though I graduated just a few years ago in 2013, I am certainly no longer entirely the same person I was back then when Fort Collins was my temporary home.

To start with, I dress much better! It feels funny to walk around the same streets I still know well and find them unchanged when in contrast I most certainly have.

Anyways, here I am wearing my houndstooth suit yet again! I just love this set more and more, I should really make a second one, as this same fabric comes in a dark cool grey shade as well. This time I paired it with a black floral blouse and black accessories. The tan shade is super easy to wear with many different colors for some serious versatility which has been really great.

I had merely intended to pop down to old town just to get some photos, but decided while I was there to take a quick gander inside Wear It Again Sam, the best vintage shop in FoCo (as Fort Collins CO is known). My goodness was this a good snap decision because waiting in the shop was a holy grail-- a vintage 1940's suit that fit me perfectly! (WHAT! OMG! YESSSS!) I'm still on cloud nine about finding it, it was waiting for me! I promise I'll be showing you all soon :)

  2. Somehow the houndstooth shouldn't go with the floral blouse, but it is a perfect match! What fun to go to your old haunts but feeling so different! Kx

    1. Thank you! I wasn't sure it would work either, but because the houndstooth is so small scale somehow it worked! I just like more excused to wear this blouse as it is one of my favorites :)

  4. Lovely suit and I like how you tied in the print on the blouse with your brooch. I like the bolero shape of your jacket too.
