T-Straps and Teal

While the East Coat was being pounded with snow, we had an unusually warm on Saturday here in Colorado! It was 60 degrees out, so I took the warmer weather as an opportunity to wear this thin 1920's dress in a grey and teal ikat print. It was the perfect temperature out, and it's always nice to have a flapper moment every so often.

I just love this black and silver faux fur collar, though nicer faux fur like this is usually around $40-$50 dollars a yard, I got just a 1/3 of a yard and make this collar with extra fabric to spare. I picked up a nice piece of faux fur again this past week from the same shop, this time on sale. I will be making another collar, but I'll take photos along the way so you all can DIY your own luxurious faux furs too. I always feel a bit Velma Kelly with a big fur collar on, something about it just feels twenties vamp.

I have been steadily working on the plaid suit over the weekend and cut out the sleeves so that the plaid will match up! I've set one sleeve and magically the lines matched up. So far everything has continued to work out, and after I buy some more interfacing (I ran out of what I needed of course) I can finish the jacket up and hand sew the last few details! Then I just have to make the matching pencil skirt :) Hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the week to wear to a gallery opening on Saturday, but more on that later, have a great start to the week everyone!
