Hepcat

Kitty cat brooch, leopard spot heels. Speaking of big cats, I just watched Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant this weekend (I'm trying to watch lots of classics this year). Firstly, I like Cary Grant to begin with but in those adorable round glasses he's even cuter, and secondly the part where he's wearing the ladies robe is too funny. Katherine is great too, even though her character is a mess in this movie. I fell for the little velvet purse she accidentally steals near the beginning of the film, I'd love an evening bag like that! I also couldn't help but notice the woman from the museum that Cary Grant was set to marry had really great suits.

I got this most lovely green sweater for Christmas, though I really needed to have on a coat too in the very wintry breeze. I can't stop wearing this super cute cat brooch I ordered a while back from Belle Lurette Paris. I have been wanting a cat brooch for a long while, being a seriously afflicted cat lady myself. If you follow me on instagram you have probably noticed my little tabby cat Cleo makes a lot of appearances! I just adore her, and luckily she has chosen me as her "person" as cats tend to do. She's was the runt of her litter and has always been rather small, especially compared to her brother (literal brother, same liter) our other cat Gunny who has long fur making him look even larger. I love them both so dearly, cats just make life better =^_^=

I have to say I am already tired of the harsh bright winter light out there these days. My eyes are quite sensitive to the sun, I can never keep them open for pictures! So apologies in these winter months if I am always squinting or looking away. Oddly I find myself looking forward to cloudy days :)

  2. That sweater is fabulous on you - the colour, the pattern and the fit. I absolutely adore the shoes too and the close-up shows how well they work with the slightly thicker seam that comes with fishnets. A really fabulous look. By the way, my eyes are over-sensitise to the light too, so I know what you mean - I tend to wear sunglasses when others would consider them completely unnecessary! Kx

    1. Thank you! I was surprised that a target sweater had the pattern woven in as opposed to just printed on. I'm glad I'm not alone in my sun sensitivity :)

  3. You are just killing it with that hair Bianca! You remind me so much of Veronica Lake with this look ~ very sultry and mysterious. And your stockings are gorgeous! It's a great look.

I'm always blinking in bright lights too ~ my favourite trick is to keep the sun directly behind me when taking photos, so I can keep my eyes open. :) ❤

    1. Thank you Bonita! I did this style with a curling iron as I'm still struggling to master the hot rollers I got for Christmas. The stockings are under $5 on Amazon, though I don't know what the shipping to Australia would be like. I find myself dreaming of overcast skies!

  4. Kitties really do make life better. I love that we both have tabbies. So cute! Perhaps they should be pur-pals. :D

This is such a great cold weather outfit. Love the sweater! Green is amongst my favourite colours and in a vintage context, I adore it all the more.

Big hugs to you and your furry friends,
    ♥ Jessica

  6. I'm so glad you watched the film and enjoyed it, it's honestly one of my favourites. The BEST costumes (Katherine's polkadot robe, the gold lame dress with veil thingy...) and I find it very funny, just my sense of humour with all the ridiculous antics. You look lovely here, the shoes and the fishnet seams are quite vampy, oo la la! x

    1. Thank you Porcelina! I can't wait to watch more of Katherine's films, I have a long list to watch through and I anticipate I will enjoy every minute!
