It Belongs in a Museum!

It finally cooled down enough that I could wear my new(ish) suit! I snatched up this linen look 80's does 30's/40's suit at a local thrift store over a month ago, but it has been too hot to wear it! I just had to have it for $12 dollars, and I had been wanting a tan or beige suit for a while. I blame the final scene of Indiana Jones with Marion in her beige suit for this desire! On that particular day the thrift store had tons of 1980's suits, but most of them were very, very 80's. I think this one, even with its puffy shoulder pads, looks rather 1930's and I just had to try it on. The lining of the skirt was oddly too tight, but the skirt itself fit, so I bought it and cut out the skirt lining! I'll put a new one in eventually :)

I paired the suit with my cognac leather heels, a matching belt, my linen and straw boater, and my ivory celluloid vintage jewelry.  I think I could pair this suit with black or navy in the future too.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

  2. The suit is fabulous - and brilliant with your boater and shoes. I would never have thought about such a blouse underneath (mind you, I don't even have a beige suit!) but it really adds interest. What inspiration! Kx

    1. Thank you! I was hard to figure out which blouse to pair with it, I think I'd prefer a simple ivory silk shell, but as I don't have one I went with the floral print!

    1. Thank you Jessica! I am rarely found in such light colors but I made an exception for this suit since it fit my summer "lady adventurer" style so well :)
