This past week was couture fashion week in Paris and Rome, and as usual there was some truly beautiful clothing presented! Elie Sabb and Zuhair Murad were both full of lace and sequin dream dresses as usual, and Valentino was my favorite again! The Schiaparelli collection was beautiful, I especially loved the embellishment techniques on display. I can't lie I'm pretty excited to get going on some fall sewing now, even though it's only July!
I'd have to say Valentino is my favorite also. Love the feathered dress and the long brocade cape ensemble, especially. Lots of wonderful details all over :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteValentino is just dreamy, I always look forward to their collections!
DeleteYes to everything, please! Wow, these are breathtaking. I love the fullness and amount of coverage in a lot of these dresses. The Schiaparelli gown is my favourite, due largely to the glisten stars, but I really do go weak in the knees for all of these couture stunners.

Agreed, one of each please! I am defiantly itching to make something extravagantly embroidered now...
DeleteI love seeing the couture shows. I would love to visit an atelier and see the work first hand. It make me want to embroider.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn to do more couture embroidery someday! I look a class on sequin/tambour embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court back in 2012 and I totally would recommend their classes! Plus you get to sit in the upper rooms of Hampton Court fricken palace embroidering, closest thing to time travel I've ever experienced!
DeleteThat sounds amazing. I have seen some of their classes advertised, I think I should save up!
