Grassland Woods

Colorado is looking quite green and very pretty again, but it is hard to enjoy it when it is so darn hot outside! We went from cool to absurdly hot and now I feel like I am melting whenever I step outside!
How do I beat the heat? I don't, I stay inside :) I have no problem staying in my sewing room all weekend where things are nice and air conditioned!

I have wanted to pair my brown and green moire separates with other solids since I made them last fall, and here is the top with my dark brown twill pencil skirt. I just love this moire fabric, the green shines like peridot in the wood grain pattern, I should have bought more of t! The brooches happened to match perfectly and then I threw on my brown straw hat for good measure too. You may have noticed (if you are following me on Instagram or YouTube) that since taking these photos I have actually cut my hair even shorter into a proper bob! It was in a kind of strange in between length before and is so much easier to style now that it is bobbed again. It's been a while since I had it shorter so I am excited to try out some more 30's styles with my mervin wave clips!

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, I didn't sleep well so hopefully my early morning alarm this Monday can fix that tonight :)

  3. Really lovely colours, I can see the safari influence that you've been mentioning recently! It's funny because it doesn't look that hot in these photos, but I understand completely how the lure of the air conditioning must be quite strong.
