Mountain Drive, Photos of Fall

What better way to herald in the official beginning of fall than to drive through the mountains and see the aspens turning golden yellow? I spent all Saturday doing just that! I convinced my parents to accompany me on a little adventure into the rocky mountains, through Guanella Pass, to see the fall colors in bloom. I just love seeing the aspen trees in their full autumn splendor, the leaves shimmering like golden sequins in the sun. As you can see in the photo of the valley above, we weren't the only ones out enjoying the wonderful sunshine and beautiful colors. The weather was perfect, and we had the most lovely lunch in historic Georgetown. If you happen to live in Colorado, I can heartily recommend visiting the Rocky's while they are still speckled with gold!

Of course I wasn't going to miss the opportunity for fun fall outfit photos, so you will see more from Guanella soon!

  2. Beautiful photos! The foliage here in Vermont is just starting to change now that the days and nights are a little cooler. The last few days have been picture perfect with lots of sun and clear blue sky. I think it's going to be a colorful fall after all!

    1. Thanks Emily! I am sure things get ridiculously gorgeous up there in Vermont! I'd love to do a northeast road trip in the fall one year and bask in the colors of it all!

  3. Peaceful, deeply beautiful images. These sorts of colours - and landscapes - make my heart and soul both smile as widely as a jack-o-lantern.

Joyful autumn time wishes, my dear friend!

    1. Thank you Kate! I do indeed, though there are several months of the year in winter where everything is tan (plants are dead) and covered in dirty snow, but the rest of the time Colorado is gorgeous!
