Mad for Plaid

Just because it is still pretty hot outside doesn't mean I can't start wearing some plaid! This sheer plaid chiffon 1920's dress has appeared a few times on this blog already, but seeing as I do quite like wearing it, it isn't surprising I repeat it often. Today I tried wearing it with a cloche I modified from a basic Target hat, but I have come to the conclusion that I don't really like the way cloche hats look on me! Perhaps I need to try one with a larger brim?

I have been working on both sewing and knitting this week and have made some good progress with both! Hopefully I will be able to show you the new brocade dress I made soon!

Hat: Target (re-trimmed by me)

  1. I love your 1920s looks so much! They suit you so well, and I think the Cloche looks just fine! I also love the castle in the background - you could be the main heroine in a 1920s drama with that background! :D

    1. Thanks Bonita! These are some of my favorite feathers that I keep taking onto different hats and then removing to use again on something else as I just love the rusty orange color!

  4. Your knack for partnering the ideal background with your ensembles cannot be praised highly enough, dear Bianca. This elegant 1920s look is all the more radiant thanks to the classic, and very classy, setting at work here.

    1. Thank you Jessica! I am worried I overuse this castle location, it is just so close to where I live and reliably atmospheric so I cant help it!

  5. You look just like a 1920's girl at a weekend house party! I particularly like the third photo. Lovely colours in the fabric.
