Stranger in Paradise

We are having the oddest weather for July right now, mired in misty rain and fog for days! I have to admit, I have been loving it. I love this kind of rain, the misty London kind of rain. It hasn't stopped me from wearing my summer dresses either, this one being my favorite of all!

I made this dress last July, see it here in its debut, from a bargain bin fabric found at my favorite shop. I think everything came together so well, the pattern placement, the drape of the sarong-like swag, the sweetheart neckline, I am just so pleased with it! Often there are little things I would like to change about my sewing projects once they're finished, but not this one! Quite a unique experience.

Today I paired the dress with my teal suede heels and pin-up hair. The jungle you see behind me is my new favorite haunt for photos, I can't stay away! There were people fishing in the little pond today though, so my photo-shoot had a few confused on-lookers. I am not quite used to people being around while getting photos, but a blogger's gotta do what a blogger's gotta do!

  1. I like the way you have interspersed the floral photos with the dress photos. But most of all I adore your teal shoes with this dress: it's amazing how the look changes from the first two photos where you cannot see your shoes - great though the dress still looks - to the later one where it all comes together so beautifully! 1. Thank you! I love this little park but the amount of "off-roading" from the set paths means it definitely demands me bringing two pairs of shoes- one for walking through the nature, and the pretty ones that actually match my outfit! The people fishing thought I was nuts I assure you ha ha

  2. It's such a stunning tropical flower print dress, wow! Shaheen himself would be doffing his cap.

    1. Thank you Jessica! That is quite the compliment :) I still can't believe this fabric was under 10 dollars last year, a very good impulse buy!

I sigh every time you wear those teal shoes, they really are my favourites. I would like to own a pair!!
