Ride Back in Time: An Outfit from the Forney Museum

Climb up and get behind the wheel of a model T! You don't have to ask me twice! A 1915 model T to be exact! Today I set out to explore the Forney Museum of Transportation here in Denver. Though I know very little about either trains or cars (old or new), that doesn't mean I don't love them from a design standpoint. I'd love to learn more about both someday, but for now the sheer beauty and nostalgia for a time I missed out on are enough for me to appreciate them. I love a good car show in the summer, and the Forney museum was like an extra special car show, only indoors!

I loved seeing the old horse drawn carriages, early cars, train cars, motorcycles, and even early bicycles! They currently have a great exhibition of Chryslers, called the The Bold Chryslers 1955-1962 on display and it was really fun to see the gorgeous 50's cars. I have many more photos from my visit that I will share later this week!

As for my outfit, this is the second wearing of my new-ish flared wool skirt and I am loving it more and more! This blouse has been in my closet for years, since high school. If you can believe it, its from Forever 21, and yet it has lasted so long! I think they used to make things of a bit higher quality than they do now. The shoes are a new addition as of yesterday, my mom picked them up for me for a great deal and I had to wear them right away today. I really like them and they are so far super comfortable!

In the last photo below, I am standing in front of a Hispano Suiza, aka the kind of car Miss Fisher (of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries) drives, though she has a different model.

Skirt: Made by me
Blouse: Forever 21 (in like...2008!)
Shoes: Stein Mart
Tights: What Katie Did
Bracelet: Vintage (Etsy)
Earrings: Old Navy

  1. Looks like the kind of museum I would really enjoy, I love it when you're allowed to play at being in that era for a moment! I'd have been behind the wheel too!

Gorgeous outfit, those red shoes are really something special. x

  2. What a fantastic slice of history (and beautiful out)! In the first photo, which is what appeared in my feed, I almost thought you were posing on an old widow's walk style balcony in New Orleans.

    1. I would love to visit New Orleans one day, I fear from what some friends have told me that most of the Victorian charm is gone now! I hope that isn't true though as those balconies are too gorgeous.
