Suited for Summer

This little cotton twill suit has appeared on the blog before already on two occasions, and long time readers are probably tired of seeing it by now! I apologize, but it is one of my favorite ensembles to wear during the warmer months!

This time I paired the suit with my ivory sandals from Bait, ivory celluloid dress clips (and earrings, and bracelet), and my straw and linen hat. These shoes are just so comfortable, I have them in grass green too so they probably look familiar. I still feel like this outfit leans a little safari, though perhaps more appropriate for the meeting-with-the-museum's-archaeology-department sorta look. That's a look right? The Marion Ravenwood in Washington-ish look ;)

I haven't made any new summer suiting this year, perhaps next year! I have been all about dresses for my sewing recently, and I have two more in the works now. I suppose it makes sense since I focused on separates last year that this season I needed dresses most. Well I say need...What are you all sewing lately?

Suit: Made by me
Shoes: Bait footwear (Modcloth)
Handbag & Jewelry: Vintage
Hat: Made by me

    1. Aw thank you Nora! I really need to learn how to grade patterns (size them up and down and all) and when I do (hopefully this fall/winter sometime) I would be happy to make you this suit! :) This is definitely a pattern I would like to make in my dreamy-one-day retro sewing pattern line so I'd be super happy to see other gals wearing the style <3

  2. Fantastic outfit! The two tone design here is so chic! I really like the location that you found to shoot it in, too. Interestingly, Tony and I were on the prowl for a similar rock face last weekend (for a shoot). We thought we'd found one, but as soon as we open the car doors, we were swarmed by tons of mosquitoes and no-see-ums, so we piled back in the car and ultimately just shot really close to home. Definitely something we'll be hunting for - or returning to in colder weather - going forward.

    1. Thank you Jessica! I do love me some color blocking on a suit! These epic rocks are just around the corner from where I live, I'm so lucky to be in Colorado where the landscapes are often gorgeous. Then again you have some pretty beautiful scenery up there in Canada too! <3
